Executive Director, Welcome!

Dear Friends of Animals,

I'm so happy to be here and excited about meeting you!

I'm absolutely thrilled to join you here in Sedona to help save homeless animals! These first couple of months in my new role quickly flew past and I don't want any more time to go by without personally inviting you to stop by the shelter and meet me. Much like you, I've had a lifelong devotion to animals and have helped save homeless animals in several states including California, Colorado, Michigan, and Washington. I can wholeheartedly say I feel more welcomed in Sedona than any other place. When I tell someone at the grocery store that I work for Humane Society of Sedona they respond with a big smile, tell me how wonderful the shelter is, and that makes me realize how fortunate I am to join you and such a beloved organization.  It's an experience like none other to feel so welcomed.

Humane Society of Sedona is at a great point in our history. This year marks the 50th anniversary having opened in 1966 and it's a perfect time to enhance programming that will further help the animals and our community. It's exciting to think about the future and what we'll be able to do together in coming years for homeless animals here in the Verde Valley.

Thank you for being a supporter of the shelter and our lifesaving work. We can't save these animals without you. I really hope to meet you soon.

All my best,

Austin Gates
Executive Director
